EdChoice covers tuition only.
Our admission process will stay the same for St. Mary.
Every family can benefit from EdChoice.
The school does not need to see your tax documents since you can upload those documents yourself through the portal when the application system opens.
Students on an EdChoice Scholarship have attendance requirements and need to take the MAP tests annually.
The MAP testing requirement for EdChoice is the same as St. Mary’s normal testing schedule.
Those applying before October 14th will receive the full amount for which they qualify.
If you prefer, you can stay with the previous tuition structure.
July 21, 2023
Dear St. Mary Parents,
We, Father Scott and Mrs. Fedak, and our St. Mary School Leadership Team look forward to seeing all of you on July 31st at 6:30PM to learn more about how the changes in the EdChoice State Scholarship Program will benefit every family in our school with children in Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. We will provide free childcare in the gym for your children to make it easier for families to attend. Pizza and beverages will be provided for both parents and children. Please complete the RSVP & Eligibility Form by July 26th (linked above) so we can plan accordingly and have your personalized tuition documents ready for you so you can see how your family will personally benefit.
For those who would like to start filling out the needed forms, they are linked below with step by step instructions. For those who would like to wait until after July 31st, please know that there will be plenty of time to complete this process. We will walk you through this process on July 31st as part of the presentation.
Also, linked below is a Tuition Information Sheet that explains why posted tuition is changing for next school year, what the new posted tuition will be, and how the family tuition obligation will be lower than the previous tuition agreement through state funded scholarships. While families are not required to fill out a new tuition agreement, we are requesting that every family apply for the EdChoice Scholarship at this time, and encouraging every family to sign the new tuition agreement that will be provided on July 31st. With the new tuition agreements, we will be able to maximize the scholarship benefit to our children and increase teacher compensation. Until your new agreement is finalized and the EdChoice Scholarship is accepted by the State, please keep making payments through FACTS. Any overpayment will be refunded after the state awards the EdChoice scholarship. Your new tuition agreement will supersede the prior tuition agreement.
The State Scholarship System is currently open. As a record number of families submit information, there may be times when the system is slow and some bugs are still being worked out. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding this summer as, together, we navigate the steps necessary to maximize the benefit of the EdChoice Scholarship for your child, our school, and parish.
If you’re currently receiving a state scholarship (EdChoice Expansion or Jon Peterson), no new action is required of you at this time other than to RSVP to the July 31 presentation (linked above).
The St. Mary’s Leadership Team is working to get all moving parts in order and we will communicate information as we get it. We realize this is a lot of new information as well as a new process for many of you, and we are here to help and answer questions. Please know that most Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Cleveland are engaged in this same process with us. We look forward to seeing you on July 31st in the Banquet Room at 6:30PM!
With gratitude & joy,
Father Scott Goodfellow, Pastor
Julie Fedak, Principal
