CYO Sports

The St. Mary Athletic Programs are registered to participate in the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) of the Diocese of Cleveland. CYO sports are open to all students of St. Mary School and children of parish families.

CYO believes that athletics should help young people be more Christ-like in the way they live and play, foster the development of physical skills, provide for the emotional growth of the athletes, affirm the gifts and spiritual strengths of each participant, and focus on the young person as an individual. CYO inspires young people to know God, to love God, and to serve God through athletics.

The following CYO athletic programs are available at St. Mary Parish:

Fall: Cross Country, Football, Soccer, Volleyball

Winter: Basketball, Cheerleading, Tennis

Spring: Baseball, Softball, Track, Lacrosse, Tennis

January 18

Team Mass Sunday

Join us for Team Mass Sunday on January 18 as we celebrate our St. Mary Vikings Winter Sports teams.

All parish members are invited to come together in support of our athletes and coaches. During Mass, players and coaches will be called to the altar for a special blessing, as we pray for a season filled with teamwork, sportsmanship, and success.

Let’s unite as a community to cheer on our Vikings and lift them up in faith!

Officials Appreciation Weekend

During Officials Appreciation Weekend, we encourage parents and players to take a moment to offer a simple “thank you” to our officials whenever the opportunity arises.

Their commitment and professionalism help ensure our games are run fairly, safely, and smoothly. A kind word of appreciation goes a long way in recognizing the important role officials play in our sports program.

Let’s show our gratitude to the officials who help make CYO athletics possible!

St. Mary Chardon Pre-March Madness is coming soon!

We’re excited to announce our upcoming CYO Basketball Tournament, kicking off on January 17 at St. Mary! To help make the tournament a success, we will be in need of volunteers for the admission gate as well as scorekeepers for all games. Your support is essential to creating a smooth and positive experience for everyone involved.
