Making Catholic Education Affordable for All Families

At St. Mary School in Chardon, we are proud to share our diocesan vision to keep our school strong by making Catholic education affordable, academically excellent, and irresistibly Catholic. We have ample scholarships available to make sure Catholic education remains affordable for your family's budget, while maximizing the value we offer our students.

With the EdChoice State Scholarship Program, ALL Ohio K-12 students are now eligible to receive a state-funded scholarship that covers a portion or, in some cases, the full-cost of their school tuition. This means that each K-8 student could receive up to $6,166 with an EdChoice scholarship based on family income and household size. St. Mary School is an EdChoice provider. We encourage all school families to apply. Please visit our
EdChoice page for step-by-step instructions.

Thanks to the generosity of our parish and school families, we are also blessed to offer over $196,000 in scholarships through the Angel Scholarship Fund (ASF), the new tax credit scholarship program offered by the State of Ohio. Learn more about this scholarship and make a contribution with your tax dollars for no net cost to you at our
Angel Scholarship Fund page.

We also offer Diocesan Tuition Assistance (DTA), a Parish Life Scholarship for active involvement in the parish and school, and Adopt-a-Student funds which come from parishioner gifts for tuition assistance.

In February, financial aid applications (FACTS, Angel Scholarship Fund & EdChoice) are available in the school office or through the diocese. An independent company is used for the financial review. The funding, however, comes from diocesan donors, not from PSAS.

Students in grades K-12 are eligible to apply and be considered. You must be registered and have a current application in to be considered!  It is highly recommended that you complete the form by March 15th. St. Mary is also an EdChoice State Scholarship provider. This is another income-based tool that can be used to make Catholic education affordable.

Our admission process will stay the same for St. Mary.

Every family can benefit from EdChoice.

The school does not need to see your tax documents since you can upload those documents yourself through the portal when the application system opens.

Students on an EdChoice Scholarship have attendance requirements and need to take the MAP tests annually.
